Fortis Partner Courses

The following course offerings are designed to give Westbrook partners the tools they need to sell, implement and support Westbrook Technologies’ products and services. Westbrook Technologies courses require basic knowledge of the Windows operating system environment, industry-related hardware and software experience and a general understanding of the concepts of scanning, imaging and content management. Some courses also require basic knowledge of Windows networking and other criteria as specified in the prerequisites listed with each course description.


    Strategic Sales Training (SST)

  • This course focuses on the techniques of successful solution selling specific to document management. Specific vertical-market talk-tracks, PowerPoints and case studies are provided to attendees in order to focus sales activities on pain point recognition. Competitive analysis of the document management industry is explored to give attendees a strong grasp of product positioning against competition.

    Prerequisite(s): Strong sales skills, grasp of document management concepts and understanding of solutions sales concepts
    Recommended: Certified Document Imaging Architect (CDIA+) and User Education

    User Education

  • The end users of a Fortis implementation are the true test of its success. However, if they aren’t properly trained, they won’t use the product to its full potential. Westbrook’s User Education course ensures that users have the knowledge to get the most from the Fortis solution. Westbrook partners may also benefit from course. Attendees will learn various methods to bring documents into Fortis and identify and organize them for later retrieval. They will also learn how to find and manage their documents after they are in the system. They will leave class with a thorough understanding of the end-user functionality of Fortis.
  • Length: Two days

    Customers: end users

    Prerequisite(s): Basic Windows operating system skills
    Recommended: Understanding of document management concepts, and how Fortis will be used
    Completion: Attendance at both days of this course is required to become a certified Fortis user

    Customized User Education

  • Customized User Education ensures that users rapidly adapt to the changes in their daily tasks and business processes resulting from the Fortis implementation. Class length and content is determined based on the needs of the user base. Customized training can be made up of several short, task-specific sessions attended by only the people performing those specific tasks. Employees might need to attend several of the sessions to cover all required tasks. Customized training can be provided via the Web.

    Qualified Fortis Professional (QFP)

  • This course begins with four three-hour Webinars focused on the end-user functionality of Fortis.  The remainder of the time, five days in the classroom, is spent learning administration and maintenance of the system, including understanding best practices for good system and database design techniques, and comprehensive instruction for installation of servers and workstations. Class is primarily hands-on, and culminates in a practical evaluation that includes a Fortis system design exercise and a written exam, both to test comprehension of the Fortis product suite.
  • Length: Four half-day Webinars

    Cost: $3,000
    Audience:

    Class is open to Partners
    Consulting and technical support personnel

    Prerequisite(s): Advanced Windows operating system skills and solid understanding of Windows networking concepts
    Recommended: Certified Document Imaging Architect (CDIA+) and experience in technical support or consulting
    Completion: Attendance at all four Webinars and all five days of this course, a passing grade on the written exam and successful completion of the design project is required to become QFP certified
    Note: Successful completion of this course is required for a Partner to achieve Business Partner status and provide professional services to a customer that has purchased Fortis; an individual must successfully complete this course to be able to provide processional services to a customer that has purchased Fortis

    Fortis Options

  • This hands-on course covers document-centric workflow design and implementation methods, along with Fortis Inflo’s process mapping techniques. Fortis CDExpress is covered to allow data and documents to be copied to an off-line Fortis View Station for sharing with and distribution to non-Fortis users. Data capture tools, including Fortis Planet, Fortis Data Entry Assistance, and Fortis Update Assistance, as well as other output tools, including Fortis DocPack and Fortis Query2XLS, are also covered.
  • Length: three days

    Audience:

    Class is open to Partners and customers
    Partners: consulting and technical support personnel
    Customers: advanced MIS staff, system administrators, database administrators, and support technicians

    Prerequisite(s):

    Partners: Qualified Fortis Profession (QFP) certification
    Customers: Qualified Fortis Administrator (QFA) certification

    Recommended: Certified Document Imaging Architect (CDIA+)
    Completion: Attendance at all four days of this course is required to become Fortis Inflo and Options certified
    Note: Partners: successful completion of this course is required in order for a QFP to provide professional services to a customer that has purchased Fortis options

    Fortis EnableIt Technical Training

  • The Fortis EnableIt Technical Training course is very intensive, focusing on overall deployment of the Fortis EnableIt product from setup and automation building to packaging, deployment and troubleshooting. It is fast-paced and requires strong knowledge of programming.

    Customers: advanced MIS staff

    Prerequisite(s): Advanced Windows operating system skills, solid understanding of Windows networking, strong understanding of hands-on programming with specific focus on VB, .NET, and C++ technologies and concepts
    Recommended: Knowledge of document management industry-related hardware and experience in technical support or consulting
    Completion: Attendance at all three days of this course is required to become Fortis EnableIt certified
    Note: Successful completion of this course is required in order to purchase Composite Studio builder which allows for EnableIt projects to be created and deployed; an annual subscription model is also available to Partners

    Integration and Customization Workshop

  • As technology continues to evolve, companies are realizing the benefits of integrating their primary business applications. Westbrook Technologies' Integration Workshop is a unique setting where developers learn from developers. This approach offers hands-on technical instruction providing the skills necessary to integrate and customize Fortis-based solutions.

    Customers: advanced MIS staff, system administrators, database administrators, and developers

    Prerequisite(s):

     

    Partners: Qualified Fortis Profession (QFP) certification
    Customers: Qualified Fortis Administrator (QFA) certification
    Both: attendees must have a solid understanding of object-oriented, scripting, and Web-based programming languages, and database access via programmatic objects

    Recommended: Certified Document Imaging Architect (CDIA+)
    Completion: Attendance at all four days of this course is required
    Note: Successful completion of this course is required in order to receive detailed integration white papers, the Fortis table map, and Fortis table definition documentation
